How to Make Coming Cyber Hurricane More Devastating
I was invited to make some comment on an article about Hurricane Sandy on LikedIn as per https://www.linkedin.com/posts/activity-7025458009598226432-vwTw
At first, I did not get why; Hurricane Sandy may well be out of sight for most of us not living in US. Hearing the word ‘Cyber Hurricane’, I have now got it.
The issue is not ‘if’, but ‘when’. Cyber hurricanes of grave consequences that we probably haven’t witnessed so far will do happen. (probably will keep happening again and again until our behaviour changes)
We have three scenarios -
1. Enhancing the defense
2. Inaction
3. Weakening the defense
What we are witnessing in the foundation of cybersecurity, namely, digital identity, is neither (1) nor (2), but (3).

- No Need of Extra Education
A surface contained in a larger surface cannot be larger than the larger surface that contains it.
‘Multi-Layer’ and ‘Multi-Entrance’ deployments of security factors do not have the same security and convenience effects exactly as ‘In Series’ and ‘In Parallel’ circuits do not have the same electric voltage and current .
We need no extra education to get it.
And yet, some people, who are called professionals, are in denial when coming to the awkwardness of ‘passwordless’ and ‘biometrics’ authentication schemes.
Deeply trapped in a big cognitive pitfall? Or, heavily tied down to vested interests?
