Leak-Prone or Leak-Proof ?
A friend referred me to this report — “LastPass developer systems hacked to steal source code” https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/lastpass-developer-systems-hacked-to-steal-source-code/
Conventional password managers give us a nice convenience, which comes at a big price of creating a single point of failure similar to putting all the eggs in a single basket.
If broken/hacked, we would have to worry about the possibilities of the loss/theft of all the eggs/passwords. Should it actually happen, none could be free of panic; It could be a catastrophic disaster for many of us.
Exactly against this backdrop, we have been developing a new-breed of leak-proof password manager, with which passwords get generated on-the-fly from citizens’ non-volatile episodic memory, get eliminated when the program is shut down and get re-generated when the passwords are required next time. What does not exist anywhere in the world cannot be stolen.
